Meet Allison

Hi! I’m Allison Richard B.A., RYT, IHC - stress management, holistic self-care, and corporate wellness coach, as well as a yoga and meditation instructor. I’m here to help you understand the science behind your stress. Through holistic tools and energy medicine techniques, I empower you to respond to life instead of reacting to it, building you an intentional lifestyle so you can live a purposeful, healthy and passionate life.

LET’S GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING…

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Developmental Psychology and English. After spending 6-months in Chicago post-graduation, I realized two things…

  • I needed to live somewhere warmer.

  • I had no desire to do what I had spent four years, and most of my childhood, planning to do with my life.

So I moved to Miami where I spent the next 6-months doing “what color is your parachute” and finding the love of my life, a 5-pound Yorkie named Max (after the dog in The Grinch).

And in a tale worthy of the likes of Goldilocks, I realized Miami wasn’t quite right either. So I moved to Los Angeles.

 
 

DISCOVERING THE POWER OF YOGA

Mental health was a huge part of my childhood story and while I loved my psychology degree, I always felt it was only a fraction of the whole picture of a person’s well-being.

Once in LA, I was finally able to nurture my love for yoga that had begun at age 15 (because it was a form of exercise that didn’t require shoes). I was intrigued by all the layers of yoga from the physical practice of postures to the energetic chakras of the subtle body and the philosophical texts that offered a guide of how to treat yourself and others.

Yoga felt like more of a complete picture of wellness, so I embarked on a teacher training journey.

 
 

WELCOMING NEW OPPORTUNITIES

The year after completing my 500-hour yoga teacher training, I was given the opportunity to move to NYC. While I loved so much about LA, there was something about New York that just felt right…and I couldn’t say no.

A year after moving to New York, I was teaching a plethora of corporate yoga classes from Manhattan to Brooklyn to New Jersey.

But I was also in a lot of pain.

Navigating uncertainty and pain, I completed my Integrative Health Coaching Certification with Duke Integrative Medicine. On one hand, it felt like the next right step to offer my clients. On the other hand, we always teach what we need to learn ourselves, and I knew I had some big life changes I wanted to make.

 
 

MY “AH-HA!” MOMENT

After continuing to navigate this chronic pain for years, my intuition was telling me it wasn’t just purely physical. I knew I had a choice, I could keep letting the pain lead my life or I could choose to thrive anyways and not be defined by my pain.

That’s when I discovered essential oils and the field of energy medicine.

I created an entire lifestyle and self-care routine centered around the holistic modalities of yoga, meditation, coaching, and energy work. I was witnessing firsthand for myself and my clients just how life-changing this unique blend of holistic wellness was.

I’m now honored to share these life-changing tools and techniques with you. Empowered living and an intentional lifestyle are just around the corner for you.
